Leyes de Wisconsin sobre Grabar en Público: Filmación, Fotografía y Privacidad (2026)

Actualizaciones

Qualified the statement that there is no privacy expectation in public (recording under clothing is a felony anywhere under Wis. Stat. 942.08(3)) and noted that attorney fees in open-meetings suits are discretionary under Wis. Stat. 19.97(4).

We corrected the page to state that Wisconsin's one-party exception does not cover recordings made to commit a crime, tort, or other injurious act, that the Open Meetings Law (Wis. Stat. 19.90) requires reasonable accommodation of recording rather than an unconditional right, how Open Meetings enforcement actually works, what the Seventh Circuit decided in ACLU v. Alvarez, and that police may give reasonable orders that limit recording.

Fixed two dead Open Meetings Law citation links, corrected the $25-$300 forfeiture penalty's statute citation from Wis. Stat. 19.97 to the correct 19.96, and fixed a passage that incorrectly said police cannot confiscate a camera or phone without a warrant (Riley v. California requires a warrant to search a lawfully seized device's contents, not to seize the device).
