Leyes de grabación de llamadas telefónicas en Ohio: reglas, sanciones y cumplimiento

Actualizaciones

Hedged the classification of VoIP voice calls as wire communications under Ohio law.

Corrected the classification of cell and VoIP voice calls as wire communications under ORC 2933.51, clarified that knowing use (not disclosure as such) is the ORC 2933.52 offense, and narrowed the cross-state discussion to note that Kearney applied California law only to future calls and that courts have not settled which state's law governs.

We added the full crime, tort, or injurious-purpose limit to Ohio's one-party rule, added Delaware and Nevada to the all-party state table, corrected the civil damages (liquidated or actual, not both) and the good-faith defense, removed a disclosure crime and an out-of-state prosecution claim with no source, fixed the TCPA damages description, and removed advice that a notice plus staying on the line counts as consent.

Corrected the mislabeled 'one-party consent exception' statute throughout the page: the substantive exception is ORC 2933.52(B)(4), not ORC 2933.53 (a law-enforcement warrant-application procedure), fixed in the lede paragraph, a section heading, the FAQ, and the citations list.
