Leyes de grabación de video en Ohio: filmación pública, privacidad y sanciones

Actualizaciones

Corrected the windshield-camera rule for commercial cars to include the federal vehicle-safety-technology option.

We updated this page to reflect Ohio's current voyeurism law (which covers underwear and requires no sexual motive) and its 2025 fabricated-sexual-image offenses, removed an incorrect repeat-offense enhancement and a nonexistent "legal proceedings" exception, corrected the dashcam audio and windshield rules, noted that the Sixth Circuit has not recognized a right to record police, and fixed the evidence-prejudice standard. Corrected the opening line to note that secretly recording under or through clothing is a crime anywhere in Ohio, limited the windshield camera rule to front-windshield mounts, added the FAA's 250-gram registration threshold, restated landlord camera limits by the voyeurism statute's elements, and stated that Ohio Evid.R. 403(A) makes unfairly prejudicial evidence inadmissible.

Fixed a broken Markdown link in the Quick Answer paragraph that spanned three sentences and swallowed a bold-close marker, which would have rendered as garbled text and an oversized link.
