Leyes de Virginia sobre grabar en público: derechos y restricciones

Actualizaciones

Added the statutory exceptions to Virginia's drone-trespass offense, including consent from someone lawfully on the property and lawful flight under federal rules.

Cited the two Virginia drone statutes (Va. Code 18.2-130.1 on drone peeping and 18.2-121.3 on drone trespass near a dwelling) and revised the description so it no longer rests public filming on a First Amendment right the Fourth Circuit has not decided.

We corrected how this page described First Amendment protection in the Fourth Circuit (which has held only that livestreaming a police traffic stop is protected), noted that the wiretap and up-skirt laws still apply in public, narrowed the up-skirt statute to what it covers, added the felony tiers for minor victims and repeat offenses, and described courtroom camera rules under Va. Code 19.2-266.
