Texas Social Security Disability: Rates & Wait Times

Updates

Corrected the Texas SSI section: the state does not run an Optional State Supplementation program under Human Resources Code 32.024, so that description, an unsupported 1999 start date and unverifiable payment figures were removed and replaced with the statute’s actual personal needs allowance rule for long-term care residents, and the Texas codification of automatic Medicaid (Sec. 32.025(a)) was added.

Corrected Texas's SSI supplement claim from an unqualified 'Texas pays no state supplement... not one of them' to the accurate framing: no supplement for independent living, but a statutory Optional State Supplementation (Tex. Human Resources Code 32.024) for SSI recipients in Medicaid nursing/ICF facilities since 1999.

Qualified two remaining unqualified 'Texas pays no SSI supplement' statements (intro paragraph and the Medicaid section's 'Watch out' callout) that contradicted the page's own '(limited) Texas state supplement' section describing the Optional State Supplementation for Medicaid facility residents.
