The Clean Slate scheme
The Criminal Records (Clean Slate) Act 2004 conceals eligible convictions automatically for people who meet all of its conditions, most importantly seven years conviction-free, no prison sentence ever, and no specified serious offence. It is not something a person applies for, and it is not something anyone grants; it happens by law once the conditions are met.
