  • This is an informational lookup, not a decision. It tells you how many points you are from the applicable threshold. The Traffic Police, not this tool, decide any suspension or revocation.
  • The point thresholds and a suspension cap of not more than 36 months come from the Rules. The specific week and year durations shown are the Traffic Police's published administrative practice for setting a suspension within that ceiling.
  • Demerit points are wiped after 12 consecutive offence-free months.
  • From 1 January 2026, offences committed in a School Zone, Silver Zone, or Friendly Streets zone carry an extra 2 demerit points. The suspension and revocation thresholds themselves were not changed.
  • A new driver is revoked at 13 points in the first 12 months, with a written warning at 6. An experienced driver faces a first suspension at 24 points in 24 months, then further suspensions at 12 points in 12 months after any suspension.
