Counts convictions, not points
Texas
Texas does not use license points. DPS can suspend a license as a habitual violator after convictions for 4 moving violations from separate incidents in 12 months, or 7 in 24 months. The Driver Responsibility surcharge program was repealed effective September 1, 2019.
Other consequences
The Driver Responsibility Program (annual surcharges under Chapter 708 of the Transportation Code) was repealed effective September 1, 2019.
Other consequences
A habitual violator or provisional-license suspension carries a $100 reinstatement fee, and an occupational license and an administrative hearing are available.

What this page does not do
- It does not read your driving record. Only Texas Department of Public Safety can confirm your current total.
- It does not predict a suspension: levels count only convictions inside each window, and the agency decides.
- It does not cover commercial (CDL) disqualifications or DUI suspensions, which follow separate rules.
