Uses a point system
Nebraska
Nebraska adds points to a driving record when a driver is convicted of a traffic violation, and 12 points within a two-year period leads to automatic revocation of the operator's license.
Other consequences
The six-month revocation runs from the date the revocation order is signed, or from release from jail or a state correctional facility if that is later, unless the court ordered a longer period.
Other consequences
A driver under 18 holding a provisional operator's permit (POP) who has three or more points in the previous 12 months cannot get the Class O license until turning 18 or until the record shows fewer than three points in the previous 12 months.
How long points count
Points are assessed as of the date of the violation, the two-year window counts from the last date of violation, and convictions stay on the driving record for five years.
Point reduction or driver improvement
A driver with fewer than 12 points can take a DMV-approved driver improvement course of at least four hours to have 2 points removed (1 point if only 1 point was assessed in the previous two years). The credit can be used once every five years, and the course must be finished before the violation that would add the 12th point.

What this page does not do
- It does not read your driving record. Only Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles can confirm your current total.
- It does not predict a suspension: levels count only convictions inside each window, and the agency decides.
- It does not cover commercial (CDL) disqualifications or DUI suspensions, which follow separate rules.
