Uses a point system
Missouri
Missouri adds points on conviction. An advisory letter goes out at 4 points in 12 months, 8 points in 18 months brings a suspension of 30, 60 or 90 days, and 12 points in 12 months, 18 in 24 months or 24 in 36 months brings a one-year revocation.
Other consequences
Suspension lengths: 30 days for a first points suspension, 60 days for a second, and 90 days for a third or later one.
Other consequences
After reinstatement following a points suspension or revocation, the point total is reduced to four.
Other consequences
Two extra points are assessed when certain violations cause personal injury or property damage.
How long points count
Points count from the conviction date. After one full year with no moving-violation conviction the total drops by one-third, after a second consecutive year by half of the rest, and after a third consecutive year it goes to zero.
Point reduction or driver improvement
A court can accept completion of a driver-improvement program instead of points for certain violations, including speeding and careless and imprudent driving. It is allowed once in any 36-month period and must be completed within 60 days of the conviction. The court must order it, and it is not available for violations in a commercial vehicle or to commercial license holders.

What this page does not do
- It does not read your driving record. Only Missouri Department of Revenue, Driver License Bureau can confirm your current total.
- It does not predict a suspension: levels count only convictions inside each window, and the agency decides.
- It does not cover commercial (CDL) disqualifications or DUI suspensions, which follow separate rules.
