Counts convictions, not points

Kansas

Kansas does not use a point system under K.S.A. 8-255. The Division of Vehicles may restrict, suspend or revoke driving privileges after three or more moving-violation convictions for violations on separate occasions within 12 months, and may let the driver keep privileges by attending a driver improvement clinic.

K.S.A. 8-255

Other consequences

The Division may also act when a driver has been convicted of serious traffic offenses so often as to show disrespect for traffic laws; no count is stated.

K.S.A. 8-255(a)(1)

Other consequences

Three or more convictions within five years for listed serious offenses (such as vehicular homicide or DUI) make a driver a habitual violator.

K.S.A. 8-285

Point reduction or driver improvement

For a driver facing suspension for three moving violations in 12 months, the Division may allow the driver to keep driving privileges by attending a driver improvement clinic.

K.S.A. 8-255(f)
